This is a rosewood ladies desk of exceptional exhibition made by Morant & Co, London who were cabinet makers to Queen Victoria and other members of the Royal Family.

Each of the 3 drawers is stamped "Morant & Co 91 New Bond Street London". Each of the 3 locks is stamped 'Morant & Co London'.

Morant had premises in 91 New Bond Street from 1858 to 1881.

They are recognised as one of England's most eminent cabinet makers.

The satinwood lined drawers have an amazing silky smooth action.
The top inset with a later gilt and blind tooled hand dyed leather.

Circa 1870
